With more than 30 years of experience in residential lending, Brendan Hickey is a highly respected leader in the mortgage industry, known both locally and nationally for his expertise, integrity, and long-standing commitment to customer success. He has been with Total Mortgage since 2023 and has earned the company’s prestigious Presidents Club award every year since joining.

Brendan began his mortgage career with Chase Manhattan in 1990 before moving to Approved Home Mortgage in 1997, where he later became owner in 2003. Over the next two decades, he guided the company through multiple successful mergers—including with the Bank of Maine and later Camden National—before reestablishing Approved Home Mortgage as an independent brokerage. In 2023, he partnered with Total Mortgage Services, continuing to expand his reach and impact in the industry.

A graduate of Bowdoin College and a former collegiate hockey All-American, Brendan brings the same discipline and leadership from the rink into his professional life. Outside of work, he is deeply involved in his community—coaching youth sports, serving as an assistant high school hockey coach, and volunteering for more than 30 years as Regional Director for Ice Skating with Special Olympics of Maine
